Art/Place Gallery: In Shadow "In Shadow" is the title of Darien resident Cate Leach’s new work. She states, "I'm interested in both the subtleties and stark contrast of light and shade. In my larger paintings the play of light and dark is dramatic, giving weight to the power of their opposing qualities. With my boxes, objects cast shadows literally and the mood is decidedly somber."

Art/Place Gallery: Full Circle In "Full Circle", Cate continues her exploration of form and texture. She states, "It has been a revelation to explore the properties of the sphere. My large paintings contrast with the smaller works reflecting my interest in mass and the implications of scale. While the large paintings suggest a distant relationship, the small prints draw you into their own intimate world. "
